About James

James O’Connor is a freelance videographer and photographer who helps organisations, artists, and communities tell clear, authentic, and meaningful stories.

He began his career in marketing and account service before launching James Patrick Photography in 2013. That background shaped how he now works, combining creative filmmaking with a strong understanding of communication, audiences, and brand consistency.

Over the past decade, James has focused primarily on video, producing award-winning documentaries and music videos. His work spans corporate, government, not-for-profit, and arts organisations across NSW, where teams rely on him for production that is organised, uncomplicated, and aligned with their message.

James’ films and photography have appeared on billboards, TV, print, online campaigns, and POS displays. His projects have taken him around Australia and Europe, capturing stories that connect people to ideas, initiatives, and experiences.
